Lovely morning with a lot of international racing in the next few hours.
At 8 (East Coast) Deauville will kick of a nice card. The card is sponsored by Shadwell so look extra for their runners. In the first I have an interesting outsider i the 1 Areen. In his debut he had a slow start and over 7 furlongs could not make up any ground. Now it is a mile which should suit this Giant’s Causeway colt. He should be able to challenge the Godolphin runner 7 Botanik, a colt by Golden Horn.
35 minutes later Sheikh Hamdan (Shadwell) will win Shadwell Prix de la Nonette with his brilliant filly 1 Tawkeel by Teofilo. She just doesn’t know how to lose and should win this Group 2 in style. Odds will be low. Italian raider 6 Auyantepui by Night of Thunder could be a good one but Godolphins 3 Alkandora by Nathaniel is progressive and taken to chase the jolly home.
Ten minutes earlier, at 8.17 you should not miss a trotting race at Vincennes. 5 Hera Landia is fantastic under saddle and has been knocking on the door lately. The good thing is that the heavy favorite is prone to making breaks.
8.50 York will start and will do so with a very nice Group 3 over 9 furlongs. Most punters will frown upon 8 Zabeel Prince (by Lope de Vega) after a lacklustre comeback. He is allowed the benefit of a doubt and the odds is good today!
9.15 we will return to Deauville for the Quinte. Here I will propose an outsider under splendid jockey Pierre-Charles Boudot. 5 Savoir Aimer (by Authorized) will like the heavy going. The distance is a bit sharp, but he should run his race.
9.50 we will have a Group 3 at Deauville. It will be a match between Godolphins 5 King’s Command and 6 Well Of Wisdom. The Dubawi horse King’s Command should be the better one under Dettori. But the Oasis Dream colt under Barzalona is not out of it.
The most intriguing race this morning is the Ebor at York. The start is scheduled for 10.40 and we are left with 21 runners after three scratches. I like two horses from the Haggas stable. The unbeaten 16 Monica Sheriff (by Lawman) is available at 16/1 and still drifting. That is just too high. But my fancy is 5 Pablo Escobarr (by Galileo) who is racing from a very lenient mark in my opinion. Still to race over 14 furlongs he is currently at 14/1. This is a race where you should avoid the chalk. 3 Trueshan (by Planteur) should be thereabouts but 5/1 in this race is just bad advice.
